Welcome to my Band website!!  I am thrilled to start another year of teaching.  I am originally from Ipswich and got my Bachelor of Music Education at Northern State University.  I live on an acreage with my husband and three children.  I love to spend time at the lake, reading, walking, baking, and spending time with family.

    Kindergarten-2nd grade Music: 

    1.  If you have a favorite song from music class this year, email me and let me know what that is.  My email is becky.nierman@k12.sd.us.

    4th grade band:

    Music Madness Practice Challenge you will get with your things at school.  Complete 2 boxes a week.  If you have more time and want to do more than 2 boxes a week you may do so.

     

    5th grade band:

    You will get a letter with your things at school on how to join SmartMusic.  Please sign up for SmartMusic this week.  Play something for fun on your instrument.

     

    6th-7th band:

    Please sign up as a student at the Sight Reading Factory website.  You can enroll on smartphone, tablet, laptop, desktop, or chromebook.

    1.  Go to www.sightreadingfactory.com/student.

    2.  In the student code field enter  t8tdhy

    3.  Select the appropriate age group (says to click redeem)

    4.  complete the registration info.

    Then you should be enrolled in my class and be able to get assignments.

    In addition to enrolling in the Sight Reading Factory, please play something for fun on your instrument and go to the following link Sight Reading Rhythm,  and clap or play the rhythms on the video.
