Bus Safety Rules for Students

THE DRIVER IS IN ABSOLUTE CONTROL AND CHARGE OF THE BUS AND INSURING EVERYONE'S SAFETY.  PASSENGERS ARE EXPTECTED TO:

  • Be on time (only two minutes wait time will be permitted at morning pickup)
  • Never board bus with live animals, glass items (unless contained) or other dangerous items (bats, tools, etc)
  • Take their seat and if so directed their assigned seat
  • Use conversational voice, never use vulgar language, argue, or "BULLY"
  • Remain quiet at all railroad crossings AND as directed by driver
  • Never put any part of yourself or other items out windows
  • On exiting the bus to cross the roadway go to 10 feet in front of the bus and cross only upon signal from the driver

 

If your unacceptable conduct is reported to the principal, you run the risk of losing riding privileges.

 

SAFETY REQUIRES EVERYONE'S COOPERATION

Violations or reports of unacceptable behavior are cumulative except in those circumstances of reckless and safety compromising instances and may result in the following consequences:

1st Violation: Warning from the bus driver and written report filed with the principal, parents will be advised.

2nd Violation: Riding privileges will be suspended for five days.

3rd Violation: Riding privileges will be suspended for 10 days or more as the circumstance may warrant.

Any and all mitigating or unusual situations will be addressed by the school administration on an individual basis.

I have read the and understand the bus rules and regulations and will advise the driver of any medical conditions requiring special attention.
