     *September 17-21 is Homecoming Week

    Theme: Entertainment (TV shows, phone apps, Netflix/Amazon, video games, music, tec.)

    • Monday - Music Monday (dress as your favorite musical genre, musician, or musical group)
    • Tuesday - Netflix and Binge Watch (dress as your favorite actor/actress, movie/TV character, or wear your pajamas)
    • Wednesday - Video Game Day (dress as your favorite video game character)
    • Thursday - Famous Duos in Entertainment ( Dress as a famous duo, such as Batman & Robin, Thelma & Louise, SpongeBob & Patrick, etc.)
    • Friday - Tiger Pride (Show your Tiger pride. Wear orange and black) 8:45 a.m. Pep Rally


    *There is a change in the volleyball schedule: The October 2nd game scheduled with Faulkton at Ipswich will be played on October 15th.  MS will begin at 4:30 (2 games), JV will begin at 6:30 and the varsity game will follow.

    *You are invited to display your talent on stage during our 2nd annual “Ipswich Has Talent” talent show to be held on Tuesday, November 20th at 7:00 pm in the Ipswich School theater.  If you sing, play, dance, juggle, tell jokes, perform tricks, act, or whatever your talent may be, we would like you to share that with us!  Students in grades 6 and up along with the community – YOU – will perform.  The deadline to sign-up is October 1st.  If you would like to participate in this community and school event or if you have any questions, please contact Charlene Blondo by email at Charlene.blondo@k12.sd.us.  You may also reach her by calling the Ipswich School.  No entries will be accepted after October 1st.  Please make sure that your act is appropriate for family entertainment. 

     *When arriving at the school we request that all visitors check in at the Main Administrative Office.  The doors near this office can be found on the south entrance of the school building and will be the only doors that will be unlocked to promote student and staff safety.

    *Parents are asked to notify the school when their children will be absent from school.  Please call before 9:00 a.m. the morning of the absence.

    *If you have any questions regarding one of the five bus routes please call our bus contractor: Lenny or Deb Braun @ 380-7079.  In addition, if your child will not be riding the bus, please contact them before 7:00 a.m. so they can alter their routes.  Also, if your child rides an activity bus and will not be returning on it, partents/guardians MUST sign out their child with coaches prior to leaving.

    *New to the Ipswich School District?  Please contact the school as soon as possible to register your child or children.

     *School Lunch: The cost of each meal will be $2.35 for grades Pre-K-5 and $2.60 for grades 6-12.  Parents may send any amount of money for lunch and it will be put directly into their child's account.

    *Activity Tickets: $10.00 for Grades 1-5; $15.00 for Grades 6-12; $35.00 for Adults; $20.00 for Senior Citizens (60 years old)

    *Single admission tickets for athletic events will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for all grade, high school students and senior citizens.  Doubleheaders will cost $5.00 for adults.  Preschoolers and Kindergarten students will be admitted free to all athletic events when accompanied by an adult.

    We are accepting registration for all incoming preschool students for the 2018-19 school year.  Children must be 4 years old by September 1, 2018 to enroll.  Children living both in and out of district are eligible to apply.  The Ipswich Public preschool is a free program.  Preschool meets Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.  Please call the school (8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) at 426-6832 to register your child.


    We are registering children for Junior Kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year.  Children who turn 5 years old by September 1, 2018 are eligible to enroll.  The program provides a stepping stone between preschool and kindergarten.  Junioir Kindergarten meets every afternoon from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. and is a free program.  Please call the school (8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) at 426-6832 to register your child.


    The Ipswich Public School is conducting kindergarten registration for all incoming students for the 2018-19 school year.  Children must be five years old by September 1, 2018, to enroll.  Preschool and Jr. Kindergarten will be doing transitioning activities and kindergarten screenings will be done during school hours, starting on February 20th.  Results from those screenings will be in March, please call the school at 426-6832 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. to register your child or to schedule a time to review th results from the screenings.
