New One-way Traffic Information

Dear Parents, Staff, and Community Members,

The safety of our students is always our top priority. To help improve traffic flow and ensure a safer environment during student drop-off and pick-up times, the Ipswich Public School District, in conjunction with the city of Ipswich, is making the following changes:

  • 2nd Avenue (on the south side of the school) will now be a full-time one-way street, running from East to West from Highway 45 to 7th Street.

Morning Procedures

  • If you are dropping off your children at the doors, please stop only long enough for them to exit the vehicle.
  • If you plan to park and walk your children into the school, please use the parking lots of the parking area by the playground and then walk them in.
  • This will create a smoother drop-off process while increasing safety for students and families.

Afternoon Procedures

  • Afternoon routines will remain largely unchanged from the past.
  • Buses will park slightly west of their previous location and will leave the school at 3:35 p.m.
  • Once buses have departed, elementary students who are not riding the bus will be excused, and traffic will be allowed to flow through for pick-up from East to West.
  • Anyone needing to park and enter the building should continue to use the parking lots or the parking area near the playground to the West of the school.

Additional Notes

  • The south side of 2nd Avenue will be reserved for residential parking only between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Please honor all posted traffic signs and follow the new procedures to help make this transition as smooth as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation and for working with us to enhance safety for our staff, students, and patrons. With your support, we can provide a secure and welcoming environment for all.
